Fieldtrip
Visit a local apple orchard, or check out a neighbour's tree.

We go to a neighbour's yard that has about 5 apple trees. Each child picks two apples and we bring them back to school.

Use apples in red, yellow and/or green paint to make prints on paper. Apples become slippery in paint, so trying jabbing a fork into the back and children hold onto fork. |

Math:
plastic apples in the estimation jar

Change number of apples each day. Children must estimate number in jar and write on slip of paper with their name on. Some time during day do an actual count and compare estimations.
