Wikis

Working with Wikis

What's a wiki?

  1. Sign up for a wiki account, so you can comment on this wiki.  See screencast to learn how. (You don't have to join this wiki to add comment - just sign in to PB Works.)

Unable to display content. Adobe Flash is required.

  1. Create your own wiki:  http://pbworks.com/
  2. Troubleshoot with the excellent PB Works User Manual: http://usermanual.pbworks.com/.  Search.  For example - embed video:  http://usermanual.pbworks.com/YouTube-Video?SearchFor=embed+video&sp=1.  Easy!

  3. Don't want to read the manual?  Start with the "basics" videos or go to the alphabetical list here:  Video Support Centre.
  4. Want some ideas for how you could use a wiki?  Take a look at our example wikis
  5. Worried about Internet safety in your classroom wiki.  Find out more about a Safe Wiki Environment
  6. Feeling ready?  Check out the Cool Tools to make your wiki wonderful!

Your questions:

How do I resize images?

http://usermanual.pbworks.com/Files-and-Images#ResizingImages

Can I make same-page links?  (This is useful if you have a lot of information on one page.):  See http://usermanual.pbworks.com/Links#AnchorLinks.

NOTE:  Are you planning to upload an image to your wiki?  Resize first.  Go to http://workingtogether.pbworks.com/Images.  Scroll down to "Tools for Images" and you'll find an easy online resizer (and other very cool image tools).
